What is central oxygen supply?
The small central oxygen supply system is mainly used for multi-storey and multi-bed of small hopistal to meet the oxygen demand of patients. The oxygen source adopts PSA oxygen generator, which is distributed to each room by the oxygen transmission pipeline.Oxygen with a purity of more than 90% is filled in the distributed oxygen supply pipeline. There is a breathing interface at the head of the bed in each room. The patient can directly access the oxygen mask or oxygen tube at the interface to obtain oxygen.
The oxygen source concentrates in the central Oxygen Supply Station, the oxygen source passes through the decompression installment, and the pipeline transports to the operating room, the rescue room, the treatment room, and each ward’s terminal place, for medical use.
Oxygen is used extensively in illnesses involving respiratory system. In emergencies such as the one created by the flare of Covid-19, oxygen consumption has increased tremendously. Oxygen is the most common element and is vital for continuance of any life form on Earth. In the plight of Covid-19 pandemic, oxygen becomes the critical consumable resource. The production of oxygen and its sudden high demand are important factors responsible for resource depletion. However, lack of transportation and storage facilities of the resource (oxygen) is as critically an important factor as the other obvious ones.
Medical grade compressed air is used in just about every area of a hospital and is administered to patients who need inhaled medications and anesthesia, while patients are under anesthesia, for treatment of respiratory conditions, and to power ventilators.
The main uses of medical compressed air --oxygen are:
1. Driving ventilators and incubators, where it provides uncontaminated and controlled air flows helping to reduce high concentration of oxygen exposure.
2. As a carrier gas for anaesthetic agents.
3. As a power source for powering surgical tools in the operating room.
Oxygen supply is a power source that not everyone thinks about or realizes how important it can be. But properly managed medical oxygen saves lives every day.
